Next Week In Online Tasting

Following a quiet January, online whisky tastings are back with a bang, and next week is no exception. All of next week’s tastings take place on Thursday 4th or Friday 5th, with four blockbuster events on each night.

The most special tasting taking place next week is Thursday evening’s event with George Grant. The sixth-generation owner of Glenfarclas will explore five family casks from different decades, starting in the 1990’s and going all the way back to the 1950’s. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity to learn about the history of the family and the distillery, as well as try some truly exceptional drams. If you can afford it, this is not to be missed.

The Dram Team are also hosting their Rye January event on the same day. Branching out from their usual monthly subscription, they are giving whisky drinkers the chance to sample an oft-overlooked whisky style – rye. The six drams on offer are exceptional, ending with a Vermont Oak finished 15 year old Whistlepig. This is a great chance to sample some of the best rye out there.

There are two other events on Thursday. The Southport Whisky Club’s USA Tasting will be fascinating, with four US craft distillers showcasing their whiskies, but this event sold out very quickly. The other event taking place is Birmingham Whisky Club’s Tour of Scotland. With quality drams from each region, and an extremely knowledgeable host, this should be a great night to try whisky from all over Scotland and also learn more about the history and whisky culture of each region.

Friday continues the theme of great whisky events. Sussex Whisky Appreciation Group will host Mariella Romano from Arran Distillery, their global brand ambassador, with members sampling six drams and learning more about the beautiful distillery. SWAG nights are always great fun, and this should be no exception.

Speyside Distillery will also be hosting their virtual tasting live from the Snug. Led by commercial manager Paul Dempsey, the event will run through five great samples, including the heralded Fumare Cask Strength Special Edition. This should be a top night.

At the same time, Bimber will be hosting one of their rare vTasting events, and The Good Spirits Company will host their monthly virtual tasting. Both are now sold out, but look out for their future events as they are some of the best tastings out there.

Check out all of these events, as well as many more on the Tastings page.
